Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, bringing wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Residents reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also faced power outages after Melbourne saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred calls for help across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

At the height on the previous day, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity anticipated across various areas of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the state.
